Presentation on LiFE for sensitizing ICFRE-RFRI, Jorhat personnel on various activities of LiFE programme

Head, Extension Division, RFRI delivered a presentation on 26-01-2023 on LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) for sensitizing all the Scientists, Officers, Supporting & Ministerial Staff, Family Members and Children on various activities of LiFE Programme. He spoke about the aims and objectives, modus operandi and possible impact of LiFE Programme. He appealed to all for little change in our behavior and mindset to the environment friendly lifestyle. He elucidated seventy five actions to be followed by ourselves in our daily life for better world. He also mentioned about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and informed that Mission LiFE contributes directly and indirectly to almost all the SDGs.

A lecture on “Diseases in daily life and their protections” delivered by Chief Guest Dr. D.S. Mertiya of AFRI Dispensary. During this program he provided detailed information about communicable and non-communicable diseases in human caused by the current lifestyle. To get rid of these diseases, the Dr. Mertiya told Yoga, Pranayama to be useful. He also answered various queries of the audience. Sh. M.R. Baloch, Director AFRI also expressed his views on the subject. Dr. Tarun Kant, GCR, Smt. Bhawana Sharma, HoD, Extension Division, all Scientist/Officers/Staff are present in this program. BPCL disposes Plastic Waste through Extended Producer Responsibility as a Brand Owner.

BPCL is registered as Brand Owner with Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under Plastic waste management rule for EPR. BPCL has collected and processed approx. 400 Metric Tonne of plastic waste in the month of January-2023 under EPR. 

BPCL disposes Plastic Waste through Extended Producer Responsibility as a Brand Owner.

BPCL is registered as Brand Owner with Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under Plastic waste management rule for EPR. BPCL has collected and processed approx. 350 Metric Tonne of plastic waste in the month of February-2023 under EPR. 

BPCL is Selling  High Performance domestic LPG cooking stove with thermal efficiency of 74%.

BPCL has Sold 4649 number of High Performance domestic Cooking Stove through our distributors in the month of January-2023.

These High Performance LPG Stoves are developed by BPCL and registered number of patents for the same.

The salient features of Bharat Hi-Star Cooking Stove are as follows:

• Technology licensing agreement signed with 7 LPG stove manufacturers.
• A domestic LPG cooking stove with improved thermal efficiency of 74% plus (BEE Star 2 rating) has been developed which is highest among all available burners in the market in India and International.
• The newly designed LPG cooking stove is 5-6% more efficient as compared to the ones currently available in the market.
• The developed cooking stove is estimated to save 1 cylinder per family of 5 members per year. 
• Combustion of 1 Kg of LPG produces 3 Kg of CO2 emissions.  This will results in reduction of 150 g CO2 emissions per kg of LPG Consumed. This is huge benefit to the environment.
• High performance efficiency burner will reduce the LPG consumption in India and it has direct impact on reduction of LPG import implied savings on huge FOREX.
• BPCL has filed 4 patents and 4 design registrations for Bharat Hi-Star.
